This accessibility statement applies to www.arwain.wales
This website is run by Arwain, the LEADER Programme in Powys, part of Powys County Council's Regeneration team. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:
- navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
- navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
- listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
We've also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
How accessible this website is
We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:
- you cannot modify the line height or spacing of text
- most older PDF documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software
- filenames on downloads have underscores instead of spaces

Enforcement procedure
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the 'accessibility regulations'). If you're not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
Contacting us by phone or visiting us in person
Our offices have audio induction loops, or if you contact us before your visit, we can arrange a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter.
We provide a text relay service (Relay UK) for people who are D/deaf, hearing impaired or have a speech impediment.
Follow this link for Text Relay Instructions
Note: Relay UK costs an extra 1p per minute to use, in addition to standard call charges, and can connect with us using the app or a textphone.

Technical information about this website's accessibility
Arwain is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.
Disproportionate burden
The Feasibility Studies need to be checked and fixed. However due to the large number of them, and as they were submitted by other organisations (so we do not have all the original documents needed in order to alter them), we feel this exercise would be a disproportionate burden. In future we will work with external organisations to make sure that any content we publish is accessible.
The system we use to make our website puts underscores between the words of filenames (seen when documents are downloaded off the website, e.g. the Application Form). There is no way to stop this, in order to change this we would need to move the whole website to a new system. As the LEADER programme is coming to an end soon this would be too costly.
Content that's not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
PDFs and other documents
The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they're not essential to providing our services. For example, we do not plan to fix pre-September 2018 issues of The Regenerator.
Any new PDFs or Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.
What we're doing to improve accessibility
We're doing our best to try fix the issue outlined above. In future, issues of The Regenerator will be produced in an accessible format and content will be checked for accessibility before being uploaded.
